My favorite food is definitely new potatoes and herring.
I also like the traditional Christmas casseroles and ham. I miss eating things like viili in the US. I'm too lazy to make it myself. I also miss salmiakki, but I'm glad to have friends who remember me from time to time by shipping me some. My mom makes the best cabbage stew and meatballs. You can't beat them! My dad makes the best 'kiinanpata' and spaghetti bolognese. Can't wait to go home and eat... *drools*
I'm not a big drinker to begin with, but I've been told that Koskenkorva is one of the best/better vodkas in the world. I don't think they really export it though. You guys should try it when in Finland.
