Has anybody ever seen an Aurora Borealis in Helsinki? It is said that it appears 20 times per year in Helsinki (200 times in Lapland)

I have never seen one so far in Helsinki.

Iv only ever seen pictures of them in helsinki, it looks far different when you seen them in city life rather then in places such as lapland. I hope you see them soon, i love them.

I saw them about 60 kms north of Helsinki back in November 2002. It was pretty darn cold. It was my first trip to Finland and I don't think it really registered until later that I had seen them because I was so tired. I'd been picked up from the airport and we headed north. Stopped for coffee at some little place and there they were. It was pretty awesome.

I cant really remember ever seen them in Helsinki. But couple of hundreds kms to north (Mikkeli), there i have seen them many times. On summer.

I live really close to Helsinki and I've seen them many many times, thought the ones I've seen in Lapland have been bigger and brighter since the sky is clearer there.
