Default Starting a Business in Finland - Best links

If you are interested to start your own Business in Finland, you should have a look on this link collection. It contains as far as I know all links which might be of interest for somebody who wants to set up a Business in Finland:

    Entrepreneurship - Finland Links Directory

You have to decide which company form you want to chose:

    » Private entrepreneur
    » General partnership
    » Limited partnership
    » Limited liability company
    » Cooperative

Here you can find more details about the different forms and the requirements

If your revenues are below 8500 EUR, you don't need to have a doublebookkeeping which means you can become a Private entrepreneur.

If you don't want to be liable with your private equity, you may chose a limited liability company (requires to have 2500 EUR on a business bank account at the beginning).

    Default Business in Finland

    Hi Penni
Not sure if you still in Oz as it seemed you might choose to remain there. I expect to be moving to Oz next year or so and have my business in Lapland for sale. It is a small well established outdoor activity company which would ideally suit a couple with one speaking Finnish and the other English. Clients are mainly foreign. Let me know if you're interested in further details.

I think that with the right marketing, adventure holidays in Lapland would be very popular in Ireland. The average Irish person never hears anything about Finland, so with a little marketing, it would be a hit, especially in Winter, but also in Summer with a little imagination.

Determine, what kind of business you'd like to be running. Call the town you are most interested in locating to, and ask to speak with a "Elinkeinoasiamies" . He or she will be happy to give you directions what to do. ( This was my first step when I started my business in Finland almost 20 years ago) ...Also Chamber of Commerce ( Kauppakamari ) is a good resource.
