Well, being a Finn myself and Finland being my home, I can't really pick any of the above words. I would've picked "home" but it's not on the list.
I find it interesting how so many people like Finnish metal music and that is their reasoning to want to visit or live in Finland. I'm looking to move back home by the end of the year, so maybe I'll have a different point of view on the country, but right now I just don't seem to understand why people, who were not born there, find it so fascinating. hehehe Maybe someone can enlighten me... ![]() To me Finland stands for sauna, koskenkorva, beer, summer cottages by the lakes, long winters, tons of lakes, freshwater fishing, beautiful nightless summers, simple homefood, long dark winters, quiet but eccentric people. I'm sure I could come up with other things, but I think that will do for now.

Everything. I cannot pick one thing from that list because it's all good. Don't forget the badass jazz you guys have over there, it's not just metal! It's not just that Finland is an awesome place to live, either. Or that it's beautiful in every way, peaceful, tranquil, yet you guys sure know how to party... Finland has such a rich history, such a deep culture. Wow.

I'm sad I didnt meet him this summer! ![]() Salmari as well, its really finnish. ps: and the words you must know in finnish in order to survive : "niin kuin" / nii ku :P its probably the most overused word in finland (outside from common swearwords p****** and v****.) |
