First one explanation: I am not an Anglosas, never been, never will. I only use this flag because I like UK.
Second - we are not here to discuss Iraq but Finland joining NATO. From the experience of my own country I say: better NATO than the Soviets.

I don't actually know, but I've been thinking a long time that we should make some kind of union at least with Sweden and Norway... even thought I don't know what would be the result with Swedes.^^ ...And Finland will anyways be always alone, so don't know has it really matter with who we're playing...

That would be good, have some kind of scandinavian association. About the swedes, i must only life about a few hours from there, and the swedes i know get on really well with us finns.

Yea, I think our politicians have actually talked about that kind of association a while ago... but you know them, everything which have something to do with a real action, must be at least ten years under consideration before doing anything. ^^ Hehe, well I'm not worried about the kind Swedes in the north, but about the ones in the south...

The sons of Ireland are actually the sons and grandsons of Irish people, American people crave their ancentry, and Americans who have never seen Ireland still call themselves Irish. But there are a few Irish born people in the US forces. England is a different country, we speak English too, this is where the confusion is.

I almost forgot there are quite a few Irish in the British army.

In WWII Finland was neutral and not even their friends in Sweden helped them! Imagine how the war would have went if Sweden and Finland fought side by side against the Soviets? I think that the Soviets would have lost lot of land. That is a good argument for joining NATO.

Actually Finland fought first arm to arm with the Nazis and then swapped the sides and became the Soviet's ally. That is not neutral at all, just swapping sides as it suits better.
And Swedes took a lot of Finnish kids to take care of them during the war: Finnish war children - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If that's not help, then what is it?

What I think is that the both opinions are actually right. Sweden DID help us by taking the children there from Finland, but they did not FIGHT with us or help by supporting us politically when our emergency was the biggest, which let to the fact that we had to join with Nazis. BUT in the other hand, I can't say should Swedes really be blamed from that since we're talking about fighting againts The Sovient Union... And anyways the winners always write the history.^^

Haha. Finland was not "allied" with Soviets. It was just a part of the peace treaty to get rid of our German friends in Finland - and i think you know it very well.

Well the same difference than between Finns who lives in the different cardinal points of the compass, if you know what I mean ^.^
North people doesn't have so bad snobbering-need on, they're nicer and doesn't always think first their own benefit in everything. They're also more friendly and in the case of north Swedes they come better along with Finns than south Swedes... only my own opinion with my own experience and view. ...Hehe kind of funny to write this since you're a north people yourself. ^^ But I don't say it wouldn't work at all with Swedes, in the end we are all made from the same three.
