Thread: Northern lights

Hi,
I was wondering who saw the auroras, when and where, especially. I came across a website with wonderful aurora pictures from Tampere (!) and I'd really love to see them.

this winter we did not see any aurora yet. i suppose , that, maybe one
reason is, that the real coldness did not yet arrive.
also not at 65° latitude, where i live.
i live here since May last year, move to Finland from Germany
So i am still wating for aurora borealis , because i like this phenomenon also

I have seen it twice over the last couple of years. The best places to see it are up north so I have been told. Here in Simpele, it appears green and quite faint, low on the horizon.

Hehe, yea I can thank my mother, she has named all the children of our family by some old fairytale...

so say hii to Mom for these nice names , its good sometime times when some parent picked a nice names for their childrens otherwise He will live all life with something he hate

yes, you're right, I mean, don't know how is it in the other countries, but especially in Finland it's really important to have a good name (like some name you can live with), because from the first day you go to school to the all nine years or more you're there, other students will make up different kinds of nicknames to you by changing your own name. Some of them are friendly, some of them are for teasing you, and in every case you'd be better to like it, because if you don't, and will show it, so called teasers will definitely use it, in the worst case thru your hole life.
So I'm really happy about my name, because it's that kind of from which anybody haven't been able to come up with any good variations.
Well, okay they wouldn't have had noses anymore after trying, but that's minor point...^.^

dont tell me about the teasers jurcks , they r making fun even if u have same their name , but I am still think that names mean nothing for me in contrast to person him self ,but ok sometime there is really silly names that just atract u to make some fun ,
BTW what its the most silly names here in Finland that may be its weired .
I know Tbag is one of them but I mean really finnish names .
