Is there any way to say "please" in Finnish? Can I say "vettä kiitos" for example to be more polite? Or isn't that necessary? =)

You're right there. If a waiter/waitress asks you what you want to drink with your dinner, you say "vettä, kiitos". If you ask the waiter yourself you say "saisinko vettä, kiitos" (could I have water, please).

Hauska tavata! = Nice to meet you!

I always thought that hauska tutustua means "Nice to meet you". Is there a difference between hauska tavata and hauska tutustua?

tutustua/tavata

tutustua means to know or become acquainted with; tavata means to meet. When meeting someone for the first time you could say either, though there is a shade of diference. On meeting someone for a second time, say after a long time, you might say hauska tavata taas, but you probably wouldn't say hauska tutustua taas (because you already know them).
