I've spent one New Year's Eve and few days after it in Espoo few years ago. For a small town girl like me, it was surprising how early Finns started with fireworks! I think around 5 pm I first heard some fireworks outside and the later the clock turned, the more fireworks there were.
As I was spending the NYE with my family and a few friends of my dad also living in Finland we didn't go out a lot and stayed for most of the time in the apartment or near it, so I don't know much to say about Finnish NYE. We were more likely Estonians celebrating NYE in Finland and did things the way we've always done. But I hope I get a better picture this year
