Thread: Immigrants Accelerate Finnish Population Growth

Only problem we have is, as a EU member we cant say no to another EU citizen from moving into our country. Also with people claiming aslym, last time i checked its first safe country you come to. Not the country you know will be easy for you and give you stuff, and sponge off the state. Thats the problem that UK faces.

Well Gammer, there are plenty of Finns in other EU countries, so EU citizens are not a problem.

Yes, asylum is only applicable in the first EU country you arrive in.

We had 1000s of them claiming asylum in Ireland after passing through the UK first.

Yeh it sure is great, however im not sure iv said yet. But iv got finns in my family bloodline.

This is not good, there is no job if you dont speak finnish, and most of them will live with suport from government forever.
The number of jobs will decrease more and more in the next years and there is already 9% of finnish people without job.
Most of them never will got adaptation here because it is so diferent from the places that
they came from, the excess of immigrants already destroyed sweden (15% population are foreigners) and i hope that its not will happen here.

I believe before you can live here to work you must be able to show you can speak Finnish. There is no point in coming to a country and not being able to speak the language..

ok, just try to learn finnish in argentina for exemple...
the problem is: finnish is so dificult that take at least 2 years to learn,
and unless you are a top "ceo" or "phd someting" there is no job.
and finland is not a "immigrant friendly country", people here sometimes
run when the realise that you dont speak finnish, bus driver sometimes
dont speak english, etc.
but, you are all right, for live here, we foreigner people must speak the
nacional language, dont matter how difficult it was.

My main concern with people moving here who can't speak one of the national languages is the language barrier. There is nothing more difficult then when you come across someone who can't speak your language.
If someone can speak Finnish, Swedish or English then I'm fine. However I rarely come across this problem because of where I live up north.
But I do believe for the sake of both Finnish people and people looking to emigrate then Finnish at least is a must..
On the matter of jobs. Sadly at this time when jobs are hard to come by, jobs would and should go to Finnish speakers.

I agree with you again: if there is finnish people without job, any kind of job would
go to them. This is exactly what i wrote in my 1st comment: why bring here more
immigrants if there is already a lot of finns with no job? this is a stupid politcy.

ps: i speak swedish since i came here 2 years ago, but is useless in HKI.
