And a vacation without beer is not a vacation

it depends on,you know!
the quality of things you want & the place you stay in & etc.but Finland is in Europe & your European & if you earn money I don't think its that expensive.
for example i saw in reviews a bottle of Finlandia Vodka is about $23 & a box of cigarettes made by an old Finnish tobacco is about $10 in Finland ...

I found it expensive, luckily I was staying with a host family and paid my way via farm work, so the only money I spent was on the flights and trips into the city to the KK supermerket lol, fun I know.

I had to stay in a hotel for one night, and I chose a fairly nice one, 75€ for one night. Okay for a one off and a much needed warm shower and bed watching Finnish tv after 9 hours of travelling, but too expensive to stay long..

But if you work I think it's affordable since it's totally relative, wages are high.

I'm studying with very many international students right now and I'm not a native Finn on my own as well and for us it's pretty expensive to live over here. The rent is ok but food & alcohol prices are pretty high. Especially alcohol. You can buy most of the alcohol cheaper in other European countries. So definitely collect some money before coming here so that you'd be able to enjoy it as much as possible and wouldn't have to think that you can't afford this or that because it's expensive.

And as for hotels if you aren't much demanding then you can stay at hostels which aren't bad either. Just search a bit before booking a place because you might find something really cheap and cozy.

But well, Norway is even more expensive, so
