Heh, yep, thank you for that message! I don't remember whether I replied or not. I didn't celebrate my birthday at all here, so no cake...

I just ate some blueberry pie that I bought at Ikea. Swedish blueberry pie, but the berries are similar to Finnish berries I'm sure. There is just so much difference to the taste compared to Australian blueberries. Ours are so boring compared to the Scandinavian ones. Ours aren't even blue inside and have nowhere near the flavour. It must be getting close to Blueberry season over there. Sigh.....

I don't think they even compare to the ones I pick every year near my grandmothers place in British Columbia, they're huge, and very dark blue, and very sweet

Has anyone tried making egg cheese (munajuusto)? I found the recipe on the Virtual Finland site, and I'm eager to try it. Any thoughts about the taste?

hello,
when I was in Finland I've been eating a lot of things with cloudberries (jam, ice cream...) There's no such thing in America and I'm wondering if you guys know a place on the internet where I can buy some and where they can sell international. And, what's the name in Finnish for that kind of berry??
Kiitos!

Here in Australia Ikea sells Cloudberry Jam. Do you have Ikea where you live? I think they're called Lakka, or at least the liquer made from them is. According to Wikipedia, in Canada they're called Bakeapple.
