Thread: Nokia & Microsoft Windows 7 Phone - Future for Finland?

After I heard the news that Nokia will use Windows 7 on their phones as their main operating system I was wondering what impact this move has on the Finnish economy.

What do you think?

Nokia's share of Finland's GDP was 1,6% last year, so Nokia is not dictating Finland's economy.

Nokia's share of Finland's export is about 8-9% last year.

Yes, it will the unemployment figures, and yes, it will hit the national selfesteem of us Finns.

In total, Nokia has recived and used over 30% of all R&D money used in Finland during the past years. Now we can also see what kind of inventions there is in other companies in Finland?

Still, Nokia will not lead Finland to bankruptcy. Nokia is still making profit, that we need to remember.

Elop is killing Nokia. If Nokia won't die, it will become something like Microsoft Mobile Division. Just kill HIM someone. That's the most appropriate thing. IMHO
