I used to have a Nokia 7710, great touchscreen.

It really shows that Nokia has the best ideas but marketing sucks

If Nokia won't be so stupid as to follow Apple and its iPhone ie. to tie the phone to some telephone operator, they will certainly take over the market.

All reviews so far promise a success to Nokia and the price seems to be on the right level. I hope to get mine before Xmas

I saw it in Stockmann at the weekend for €450, somebody needs to tell them that the price should be €279

Yes, ridiculous price, so sad ...but then again - Stockmann prices are always high, no matter what you buy from them!

That first info about the launch price being so low as €279 never concerned Finland. One of the best prices at the moment (like most often) you get from Verkkokauppa.com (€354,90).

I think you should wait after the Xmas , cause the price is real so overhigh.
Guess what my friend get it from Dubai with just 390 $ and that after the VAt ,I dont know still if its with the same features but still this price is so resonable .

It seems that Russians are becoming fans of the Nokia 5800. In less than two weeks, 58 000 units were sold, according to Russian telecoms journalis Eldar Murtazin.
Nokia expected the 5800 to outsell the iPhone, but it actually exceeded their expectations. If that wasn’t enough, there are over 46 000 confirmed retail orders by the end of 2008.
The price of the 5800 in Russia is about €400.
