Thread: What is Your Hobby?

What type of hobbies do you have?

People tend to find mine a little strange - I am a genealogist so I spend a lot of time in libraries reading birth, marriage, death and Census records but the thing I like the most is Headstones!

I have a genealogy site for my family and I have just 114 Headstones. I also volunteer to look for people that cannot get to the area I live in.

I also knit, sew and try to take pictures but that is more my daughters' hobby.

So, what do you like to do in your spare time??

I love to chat, sew, cook, walk my dogs, handy crafts anything that needs repairs or makeovers when I have the time.redecorating my house.

since i live in Finland (moved from Germany to Finland in May last year)
i prefer to stay outside in the wonderful Finnish nature area, make walks
in the endless Finnish winter forest and when i am back home, i am a
couch potato, laying with a good book on the couch and recreate.
Furthermore i like also a lot of different kind of sports and also i like to
watch good movies

I like handcrafts like cross stitching, knitting, scrapbooking. I also like to do gardening, reading, spending time on my computer and listening to metal music.

- almost all kinds, but not so much into opera, classical & country (USA).

ARTS & INTERIOR DESIGN
- loved arts / drawing / painting since school.
- my favourite artist is Claude Monet
- I'm studying a degree in interior design in English (student of one British open univercity).

ANIMALS ...
- I have 2 cats and one West Highland Terrier

HISTORY ...
- my passion are Egyptian, Greek and South American (Incas, Mayas etc) history. Also some parts of Finnish history is interesting. Especially WWII as I've heard so much stories of it from my now passed away grand mother *I miss & love you, mummu*

TRAVELLING ...
- I've been up & around loads ... I love to travel to places with lots of history.
I've never been to Egypt yet, but will go one day AND to see Macchu Picchu in Peru if possible.
My other dream destinations / want/will go are ...

The highlights of my "historical monuments/places" travelling so far are -
Stonehenge, Windsor castle, Althorp (where Princess Di is burried), British museum in UK

I haven't had time to be there much lately, but if you like - check it out and let's kick it off again ...

Here are few things I like to do when not at work ... LOL

I love muay thai. Before moving here i went 5 days a week and kickboxed for 2 hours. I lived near the Rocky Mountains in Canada so i hiked and climbed many peaks around different ranges. I counted eagles and was tracked by more than a few times by cougar and hungry grizzly bears. I taught my dog to be the consumate camping companion. yes...i did many many wonderful adventurous things before moving here.

what was the topic?

Definitely music: going to concerts, listening to music and so on. But I don't play any instrument on my own anymore.

I also enjoy reading books, lately I have read lots of biography books (also music connected ).

And of course watching movies and going to theater!

I think taking part of postcrossing project can also be considered as a hobby. I really enjoy receiving postcards and this far I've received pretty many from Finland

I really wish I'd have more time to deal with my hobbies since there are many movies, plays, concerts I'd like to go to and lots of books I'd like to read.
