Question Guantánamo Detainees soon in Finland?

In this article from YLE it says that Finland would have open doors for Guantánamo Detainees.

    Something to be worried about?

They can p*** off if they think we will accept this sort of people into finland. Christ what is finland turning into here, Uk or something? We should say no and tell them to go aswell because we have no legal obligation to accept them into the country. The human rights act states that you go to the first safe country that you come across. And as finland is the most northern european (and also one of most northern countries in world aswell) i highly doubt we would be the first country they come across unless they are polor bears.

And also the fact its people that are expected of terrorism, we should tell them straight away no they are not welcome into our borders. And i dont care about all this human rights/ equal rights sh*t. I feel and put the rights of our citizens before theirs. And our government should aswell, and if they dont then we should seriously consider if our government are up to the job of putting our welfare at the top of their agender

I agree with Gammer. There is no any reason we should let them in. If they dont pose a security risk, like they say, why dont USA give them asylum? It's the US who caused all the proble, jailed them and now wants get rid of them.

Couldn't agree more. They should not be accepted only in Finland, but in any other place else. The US started this, and they have to finish this off.

thats true ,that USA have detained them for many years and for no reason for some of them and now they are try to make Eurep to take part in that .
its like the same when they destroy many countries and then they expect allways Eurepe to take the biggest part of the Asylum seeking cases .
thats just a God dam shit ,

Agreed leave them with the problem of clearing up their mess. But then again they might play the WW2 card against us, and make us feel like we should help them out again... And our governments kiss their butts anyway as a way of staying safe in the world. However if we distance ourselfs from them then we wouldnt be hated, its just them that feel they need to go in everywhere using force.

I agree with Gammer, but I think there is one guy, omar khadr, who is actually of canadian citizenship, and was arrested in 2002 in Afghanistan at age 15, who should be taken out of that prison. cause the guy is innocent. But Harper, being the douche bag and pro-american maniac he is, is acting like he never heard about him, while the guy, of canadian citizenship, is getting tortured there, when he is INNOCENT.

    :/

i think that it's a problem that many countries have and will continue to have. alot of poverty often breeds fanaticism. combining past wars and horrors of occupation by imperial forces both near and far, its not surprising extremists prey on the weak minded thru avarice & ethnocentrism. look at germany in the 30's. the mau mau in the 50's- 60's. the mujahadeen in the 80's and 90's.
there are no easy answers to this one. I don't want Kadr back in my motherland and i certainly dont want his ilk here either. He killed an american soldier and deserves his comfy living status. which is more than he would grant any of the those he was tossing grenades at. support your troops. they are the point of the spear that is keeping these animals at bay.
