Thread: Vote your best finnish band!

I like Apulanta, Melrose, Maija Vilkkumaa, Apocalyptica with Rammstein 'Mein Herz Brennt', some HIM tracks, Poets of the Fall, I dont know Ensiferum and some of those others, I went to Kivenlahti rock 2007 and it was ok, my godmother's son is mixer for Nightwish...Mikko Karmela but i dont really listen to them much.
I want to know about more heavy rock bands but something like Soundgarden...not mokomo or Teolisuuskyla...i kinda like the finnish sung songs more than the ones in english but they never get much recognition abroad.
Some bands like Negative and Lovex need to mature a bit then they will be better. Just my opinion. There are so many new good bands in England now that its hard to chose a Finnish one...but I try
I like it in Helsinki cos u can just see famous people easily...I saw Lauri from Rasmus on his bicycle..was cool. Will check itunes for northern kings, korppiklaani and others.

I'd vote for Children of Bodom even if they weren't in the list

charon are very good yeah!! and with 'clean' vocals but children of bodom really do it for me

Gave my vote for HIM... they are the ones that i like from the list above...

but i guess in Finland there are lots of bands that are worth at least one listening and then decide if you like it or not. I'm more than sure that there are bands that ppl would like but they don't listen to because they don't like how their names sound...

Anyways... the main fav bands of mine from Finland would def be The Rasmus, PMMP, Poets of the Fall and Negative to mention only those that i listen on a daily basis. but then Happoradio, Uniklubi, Apocalyptica, Haloo Helsinki, The 69 Eyes, Nightwish, The Freza, Hanna Pakarinen, Katri Ylander... many more

Hasn't anyone mentioned Stam1na?
They make just amazing music! In my opinion. And they sing in Finnish so it's good way to try to learn the language
