Re: Looking a part-time job in Helsinki

Restaurant jobs require a sort of certification. Its called the hygiene test. Looking forward to doing that soon.
Everything here requires a certification of some sort.
Its like taking things a bit too far.

Re: Looking a part-time job in Helsinki

this health certificate is also required in other countries in Europe not only here. Otherwise I don't know any other jobs...there is not a lot what you can do here in Finland. Many foreigners start running their own business...

Re: Looking a part-time job in Helsinki

Its been on my mind. Really. I just need to know some fundamental things about import taxes, restrictions, duties and the general business environment here. Will take my time though. The law is not merciful here. A fine is a fine. If you know what I mean.

Re: Looking a part-time job in Helsinki

yeah, you can also get some kind of support if you want to open your business but you need to be registered as unemployed.

You can get 600 EUR for 18 months if you have a good business plan and there is also a possibility to rent office space for 200-300 EUR. Another requirement is that your company is a limited company which requires you to have 2500 EUR on your business account and registration is about 350 EUR.

You may also need an insurance and an accountant which might also cost 500-1000 EUR a year.

(however no guarantee on all these figures).

Best is that you maybe contact EnterpriseFinland

Have been there once and they might help you. But don't tell too much about your business..they are also business guys

Re: Looking a part-time job in Helsinki

I don't believe in luck man. Make the right inputs, then expect the right outputs. Track the unknowns and its that simple or difficult if you like. Luck lives more on the doorsteps of the superstitious. There is no such thing as luck in the universe.
MIGHTY THANKS ONCE AGAIN.

Re: Looking a part-time job in Helsinki

Is there anything particularly peculiar about Finland. Its just a different culture. Do your research properly and you will discover the necessary set of skills needed to cultivate loyalty from a Fin. One loyal Fin is a key to every other Fin. One Fin will very easily trust another Fin. Not so witha foreigner.

Women are prime movers in the Finnish society. An intelligent and properly motivated Finnish lady is like a master key.

But of course you know this already. You been here for a while. Long enough to know that its women that run things here.

Like I said. Do the proper ground work, then examine your options.
