i say this every spring. but really. this is my last winter here. you dont really notice the dark until november. then it gets downright ridiculous. you are not sure which way is up or what day/time it is. i say travel south more if you can. or stay sedated until Vappu...

Well November and january are not so good months. I feel the darkness and it is depressing. I wouldn't include december. as its much lights for Chrismas and new year, which is awesome.December in Helsinki is beautiful even with the darkness. But Nov and january not good. as i leave home at 7 and back at 4 or 5 pm. So i don't see any lights at all. only from office windows
)You are posting too fast! During these dark months sometimes i dont walk in light for the whole week. and go out for a walk on saturday morning and can't open my eyes and body start to melt and stuff,,hehe,, just kidding. It doesn't bother me at all. I had some adjustments to make within myself before I would let my kids play outdoors after dark, but that didn't take long.

The long dark hours of winter don't bother me too much up until mid-January, then it starts to kick in. The moaning, the grumpiness, the hair starts getting furry, the teeth get sharper, the nails get longer and by the beginning of February my voice drops
 By then it's too late, I'm constantly being asked by pub owners to finish my beer outside in the freezing cold, and I don't even smoke! Then I'm depressed!  Don't ask me how I get through Valentine's Day! |
