Do you think Social Welfare in Finland is better than in other countries?

I haven't been in Finland (yet) but from my point of view is not difficult to beat Spain's one...

And, as far as I know, Social Welfare in Northern and Scandinavian Countries is way better than in Southern Europe, like Spain or Italy.

I've been in Sweden, thus I can say that that is true at least there.

(Sorry for my bad english)

It is far better in finland, then in england believe me. All of the money and resources over there goes towards fighting for the human rights of terrorists, rapists, murderers.. So does all the support blah blah. They dont give a shit about their citizens that live by the law.....

So yeh what iam trying to say is, finland is better.

Re: Social Welfare in Finland

depends...if you have paid 10 months into the Union fund you get about 60 percent of your last salary (earning-related unemployment which is paid for 500 days)

Basic Unemployment Allowance (if you have worked but you don't belong to any Union) is about EUR 25.63 per day and it is paid for 5 days over 500 days.
Kela - Amount and taxation

Otherwise, you will get around EUR 551 per month (depending on the income of your spouse etc.)
Kela - Amount and taxation

I don't guarantee that this information is correct!

Re: Social Welfare in Finland

my experience of social welfare in Finland is pretty good, only the
waiting times in hospital, for example, for operations, are a little bit high,
to compare it to Germany

I never in me life had to seek welfare untill i moved here to finland , i baby sit while me woman goes to work and bring's home the bacon , how sad is that , only 3 and a half year's my income was 1000 euro's a week after tax when i was living in dublin and now i'm reduced to peanut's a month doh ! If what drummerac say's is correct then ireland has a better welfare handout , but then the taxes in ireland are high so that might balance out the difference .
