    Default broadband in finland

    hey there,

Well, to cut a long story short, the girl i'm in a relationship with, has to pay for her broadband by the hour (i don't know how common this is in finland).
And she's looking to go for a pay monthly service (but she needs a bit of help with different packages)

I've been trying to do some research myself on finnish broadband, but i've found it really hard to find much.

I was wondering if someone could give me some names of providers, and then i can atleast look through their websites for info.

could you guys recommend any provider or package too?

    thanks,
    it's really appreciated

    andy

I know some people use DNA - broadband.
There's also Saunalahti, they don't seem to have service in english.
Other providers I can remember are Elisa and Sonera. Unfortunately I don't have any idea which of these is best. I would try DNA or Saunalahti first, to see what they offer.

    Hi!

What is available and reasonably priced depends on several factors.

    - Where is she located.
    - Is she looking for a mobile broadband or ADSL?
    - What speed is required?
    - Is she ready to bind herself to a 18-24 month contract?
    - Has she been living in Finland so that her credit information is ok?
(This is required for billed contract, another option is prepaid mobile broadband, where you can order by MB or by one week at a time.)

she's located about an hour a way from Helsinki.

i think she's after whatever is cheapest,
speed wise, i'm thinking 1-2mbps will be fine

I think she would be fine with a contract but i can check

She's lived in finland all her life, so i think so

    i hope thats enough info

    Hi!
Got an ADSL from Saunalahti for my son, who studies in Helsinki.
    - That was a 2 Mbps connection including a modem with a 18 month contract for 23,90 /month - no starting cost. Fast delivery within a week.
Since my son has a Elisa/Saunalahti GSM subscription, he gets the first 6 months free of charge.

You can check their prices and availability here:

    Postinumero = Postal code

Other ADSL providers have similar search engines on their pages: Sonera, Elisa, DNA...

    Hi,

    I use Welho 5mbps 35.90/month but they also offer 2mbps for 24.90/month

They have Cable and ADSL broadband subscriptions, I used to be with Sonera but when I moved to new Flat they told me it would take two weeks to a month to get connected and since I wanted to connect straight away and have cable in my building (you can connect immeadiatly if you have cable in your house) I went with Welho. Been using them for 4years now and have no complaints.
