    Terve!
My name is Emil, and I'm from Sweden. My connection to Finland and finnish is that my grandfather and his family speak finnish(meänkieli). They are getting old, but I don't want the knowledge to be lost from the family, so I started studying finnish a few weeks ago. I guess that's not the only reason; I listen to a lot of finnish music, for example Indica and Teräsbetoni, and I like learning new languages. Anyway, it's going pretty good, and I really love the language. It's not as hard as I've heard other people say it is... it's just different.

    hei!
it's really nice you try to learn finnish as best as you can!
have you ever went to Finland?
I am trying to learn a bit swedish as well, but I think it's a bit harder than finnish, mostly for the pronounciation.
I hope you can practice finnish a bit on the forum :]

Only been to Finland once, and that was 8 years ago. Went to swedish Lappland to visit my relatives up there, and we crossed the finnish border just so I could say that I'd been to Finland.
I'd love to go there again, especially now when I'm learning the language.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about swedish, or if you need anything translated.

    :] thanks a lot!
I'm mostly focusing on Finnish at the moment because I'm going there this summer. But I do know couple of words and grammar in swedish.
I never went yet to Finland..

is there a lot of snow in Sweden? I heard there isn't much in Finland.. Here in Canada (well in Québec province) we got over 4 meters so far.. I love snow, but I'm a bit tired of it haha

This has been the worst winter ever in Sweden, if you like snow, that is. It has snowed like 10 times this winter, but it only stays for a few days, then it gets warm again. A week ago there was a real snowstorm in the evening, so when I woke up the next morning, I was expecting to see a lot of snow. But instead, it was 14 degrees and all the snow was gone. So yeah, the weather has been really messed up. They do have snow up north in Lappland, but not as much as they used to.
