Wau :D Terve
Wow I'm so happy to finally be here
It took about 8 days to get my account validated. Fancy that
! But better late than never right?
I'm Daniel from Australia. I'm almost 20 and I'm getting married in December. I got engaged here in Australia when my fiancé came over to see me.
I've been learning Finnish since I was 11 at school, pretty strange story that one. I might write a book about it one day. I've been to Finland once before for a 6 month period and I loved it immensely. The people are lovely, albeit a little classed alcoholics :'D and the language is gorgeous. Not to mention all of the gorgeous lakes and the opposite seasons to Australia.
Here in Australia we talk often of Finland, I don't know why we seem to fall in love with that place so much but I think it's generally because it's the opposite to Australia. Flat instead of hills, small instead of big, long instead of wide, hot instead of cold, opposite side of the planet, old with culture instead of new with arrogance, unique language instead of English which everyone speaks.
You know what they say! Opposites attract.
Anyway I'll leave you all with the statement of thanks it's good to be here
but I'm a little 'different' to I think most people you will find on the forums here. I'll try to help out as best I can in the immigration section of the forums as I've spent the last year calling up every embassy, births deaths and marriages, Kansaneläkelaitos, Maahanmuuttovirasto, etc and just about every other place I can think of...
I'll also see how I go socialising with others in the lounge.
Lovely to meet all of you and I can't wait to be part of the family. I'll have marriage and residency under my belt and it's just a language mastery (that will probably take the rest of my life) and I'll have the third and final dream of my life, notch, complete.
Heips.
