    Default lapland

    Hi T-bag,
yes that is strange that you havent got any info about Lapland. well i will try, though i am not a tourist anymore. lapland is beautiful, I am not a person that visits places like famous churches and so. but there are a few that I did like and had to see. some places are not Lapland but I found worth seeing, like Kemi the Ice breaker " Sampo", Rovaniemi of course "Santa claus" even though it is very comercial still fun to go to,I like the nature areas the Lakes, like now there are all coverd with Ice and snow they are so peacefull, I my self find Suomu the real Lapland like in the middle of nowhere, the endless snow mobile tracks, the reindeer farms. But that is what I like.
It is quite cold now so you get so many sights of the Northeren lights which is still magic.
march can be cold but sunny during the day, great time to spend outdoors.
I would advise to check out the web pages of Lapland their are several that can help you choose the things you like to do and see.
But dont forget to drop in to see us, that is if you are going that way, Lapland is big.
    Hope this helps a bit.

    Default lapland

    Hi,
I dont know if you will be in Lapland around Easter, if so keep in mind that its quite busy then, cheap rooms are all fully occupied, and its not exactly weather to put up a tent, its now -12.6º Sunny and snow 60cm, in Suomu.
    Good skiing conditions.

    Is Oulu already Lapland?
I have been there in January and it was great.

The only other "turistical" place I know up there is Ruka, the skiing center.
I never have been in Rovaniemi or anywhere else in Lapland, so I cannot give more advices. Sorry.

Oulu is south of Lapland but its also cool specially the west coast .
but most of the places are like a COPY/PAST its all the same I am now in Kokkola in a trip I drive in lots of cities from Helsinki to Kokkola and its like all the same landscape Tandra trees and frozen lakes with the beautiful traditional houses and farms , but its like the more u head north the less u see ppl and the less foriegners u expect to see .
but its sooo cool .tomorrow I m heading to Kuopio.

To answer your question about Oulu being in Lapland....
You got to be very careful if you say that to a person from Oulu Oulu is actually NOT in Lapland yet. Those from Oulu always correct you and say that Oulu is actually in the middle of Finland When thinking about it - that's actually true.
