beleive they survive and sometime they might make money more than the local who had a legal permenat job , cause those ppl as they do here in Finland they dont pay taxes cause the money they see is the money they get so even if they get less than the normal job but they dont pay any pence ,so that makes them gain lots of money so fast .
and how did they hide beleive me the world is not that perfect as u think there is lots of backdoor everywhere ,even in Finland .

I just got my residence permit yesterday

But I was still able to live here without it as you may know you can live here or anywhere in the EU I believe? for 3 months without a permit

We have the same problems in Ireland too. There are lots of Nigerians here and even though most are hard working honest people, there are a few who have ruined the reputation of Nigeria.

Kylie, the residence permit for EU citizens is automatic, its unlikely they'd kick you out if you didnt have it. You just need to apply, Finland cannot refuse, unless maybe if you are a serial J-walker or something

That is very interesting to know as I'm hoping to use that as my way to move to Finland. My mother was born in England and I'm applying for my citizenship by birth.

Well Ower, citizenship is different, but as an EU citizen you are entitled to reside in Finland and work. However you must register for both and you are entitled to the same priveleges and obligations as Finnish citizens. I believe that citizenship is easier to get if you have lived in the country for a minimum number of years and speak Finnish.

Best of luck with your application,

    D

    Hey Drummerac

Just wondering if you happened to know anything about the health system here...I just went to the doctors and well they treated me and everything but then they were saying something about me having to pay 100euros for my treatment even though I have a residence permit here so I assumed I would be treated as a Finnish citizen, no?

For now they are only charging me 12 euros because I didnt know about the charges, but I'm not sure how they will charge me next time I am in need of a doctor?

Do you have a social security card yet? With that you get a discount on the health center services as well as from regular doctor's and the pharmacy (chemist). Without that, they will most likely charge you a full amount, which is as if you went to a private doctor. I'm not sure how that works for people who aren't citizens, but you should inquire from the social security administration. This card will also give you discounts on dental care.
