I went and saw them last night in Fremantle, Western Australia, and they were brilliant!!!! This was the first time I'd seen them live so it was a real treat for me. My husband has seen them many times, but never before with Anette or Marcus, so it was good for him too.

They got a very warm reception from the crowd so I'm hoping they will come back and encourage other Finnish metal bands to come here too. The weather was also very warm, and you could tell they were feeling it, but they did so very well.

A wonderful evenings entertainment.

And we met a couple of Finnish guys there as well who have been living here for a few years. That was good too.

I do like metal. It's my favorite genre of music and Nightwish are absolutely definitely metal. I'm interested though to hear what you consider them to be?

I don't consider them as metal because they play too soft.. or maybe because I like genres like Heavy, Death, Black, Thrash, doom, epic.. and so on :P

No susanr, they're not like HIM, but if you like HIM you will probably like Nightwish. Nightwish have a female and a male singer and their music is sort of symphonic power metal. They're very very good. If you can't find any of their music, let me know and I'll send you a cd.

Blazco, I like other genres of metal too, but that doesn't mean Nightwish are not metal. Which genre woud you put them in? Pop? Country? Rock?

I asked my daughter last night if she had heard of them, and she actually had some of their music on her Ipod - they sound good - I will probably pick up their CD.
