I totally agree with Blazco , Russia is always a threat!
Finland separated from Russia about 100 years not like Georgia,see georgia was in soviet & is independent for less than 20 years. I dont think any war gonna happen there, but maybe an argue if something really gonna happen .

Yes Iran. its got a burgeoning nuclear program and oil. im reminded of the first things the US did when it invaded Iraq. They knocked all the dials off the pipelines so no one could tell how much oil was being pumped into the big tankers.

you should accept the fact that russian rulers have a whimsical philosophy which very difficult to digest. On one hand they would sign a treaty for barging in any country and on the othe hand they would not hesitate to do it. One of the senior leader would apply for talks accross the table and another senior leader would order for force in the region. i somehow donot understand the policy. I am sorry this is my take on the thread......

Yes i feel russia could be a thread for us, seeing as how close we are to one another and also the fact they are one of the few countrys we dont get that to well on with. However would they dare risk another image damage to the rest of the western world if thet attack us like they did georgia. Also would they break the treaty they signed at the end of the winter war i wonder.

I don't think russia would be a "military" threat to Finland, but I can understand that sometimes finns are a bit afraid that Swedes and Russians might take over their language/culture/habits/way of life. They want to be Finns, not some copy of russians and swedes.

its a bit like the french canadians and english speaking north american... we are all worried about our language and culture being destroyed by english ones. as weird as it may sounds, I believe french canadians and english canadians are really different from each other in their culture, language, and way of life.

so I guess Russia could be a threat to Finland over the cultural/linguistic scene. not for economic/politic reasons, unless Finland starts some kind of war to get back the lost Karelian parts.
