Default is Finland in the way of War master

just after Martti Ahtisaari, is being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize! So much for the reputation and peace-loving character of the Finns. now Finland announced that they will not support the ban of the Cluster Munitions and Halonen by refusing to sign the Oslo agrement is making Finland more famouse internationally but in the wrong way may be as she said on friday "She said that Finland will follow the development of weapons technology in order to find an alternative without the drawbacks of cluster munitions but that will meet the needs of credible defence"

so do you think that decision is useful for Finland really in the defence field or will it ruin the reputation of Finland as a country of peace and peace keaper .

Finland's reputation is not relevant. If the military believes a certain weapon is important for defense then Finland should use it. There is no need to jump onto a bandwagon.

finland is known for its neutrality in conflicts. I don't think that this makes them somekind of pro-war nation. they probably just consider this as some kind of defence.
so no, this doesn't make Finland a "dangerous" country. They are not invading anyone nor attacking for no reasons like certain countries ( -_- )
They are just neutral in all the conflicts.

I agree with you Reea ,its just first we should know that this is one of the most eveil weapon second we know Finland is Neutral and it would use it just for defence but that gonna gives the rights for lots of other an neutral countries to follow the same idea of getting such kind of munitions and exceed it to nuclear things .but any way we all know Finland is not gonna invade any country ,first cuse of the moral of this country ,second that they already cant protect them self as everybody know against in a big conflict against any of their neiboughr .but we are asking now does this gonna really be useful in defence or would it bring the bad reputation for finland .

Even though we are nuetral and theres not really much chance of getting attacked unless russia go funny. Its good to see that we would be able to fight for ourselves and show like in the winter war. Not to f*** with us lol

You can hardly call Finland pro-war. The only major wars they got embroiled in was not through choice. Trying to steer clear of both Soviet and German influence in those days was a damn difficult tight-rope walk for Finland in their strategic location and I think they pulled their purely defensive war off pretty well overall. No, not unless some nutcase like the late Soviet obsessed Kuusinen or a neo-Lapuan movement comes to the helm of Finland, no-one should be afraid of invading Finns!
