    Default University Students in Finland

Hello. Can some of the students here please help me out. Can you tell me what your study load is like in Finland? How many units do you have to do and how many days do you have to go to the campus? Can you listen to lectures online? I want to know because here I can do 3 or 4 units per semester to be classed as a full time student, and I only have to go to the campus 2 days a week for tutorials. I'd like to compare. Thanks.

Study load depends greatly on what you're studying. And even what semester is going on your studies! I was studying at the University of Eastern Finland (or actually I'm still studying, but taking a year off) to be a teacher. Sometimes you have to spend all of your day at campus, sometimes its more independent - there really is no one answer. But I know that studying teaching involves more studying in small groups than most university studies. Ask if you want to know more.

I know that usually, in Finland, to be seen as a full time student, you need to take 24 ECTS credits (the credits they use in Europe). 24 ECTS credits is about 12 US/CA credits. I have no clue what is the equivalence for Australian Credits, but I hope this can help you out... usually in Finland you have to take 30 credits per semester thought (the ECTS ones).

that's what I've read since I'm still debating wether or not to go for a semester during the bachelor degree or just go for a full year for the Masters.
