Default Finnish language - intensive

Moi kaikki,

I wanna learn Finnish as quickly, as possible....
Do you have some ideas, where I could make some intensive Finnish course (e.g. for half a yer / 3-5 days per week / 4-6 hours per day..)?

Hello!

Check this out: Finnish for Foreigners - Basic Courses (levels 1-4), 2008
When you feel like quitting, just give it a rest, chill and then try again. For this language you need time, your "ear" has to adjust with it and it will come...

Best of luck! Oriana

there's no quick way to master finnish, you really have to practice it!
but I'd say that if you really want to learn it, than it will be a lit easier and you will be able to master the basics in no times! there are a lot of websites that covers the basics, as well as book, i'll try to reply back with the links later! :S

...Thank you for your advises! I know, I know... it will take some time to learn Finnish... But, I think, the best way to do that (for me) would be to have some intensive Finnish course. Summer university - It's a good idea! I registered already for one in Turku. But it takes just 4-5 weeks. Too short... Do they have somewhere in Turku or Tampere any courses for longer time? E.g. some integration program for foreigners or smth. like that?

that's a good question, I don't know.. :S
but here is a website that I used when I wanted to learn basic stuff:
Uusi kielemme - Finnish for Busy People
I think they offer private lessons, you can check it out if you want!
there is also Verbix -- Ugric languages: conjugate Finnish verbs , if you want to conjugate finnish verbs, and also, the website Ilmainen Sanakirja: Kaikki kielet is really nice. you can check up words there, it's an online dictionnary, with different languages. :]
I hope this can help you!

and if you know someone in Finland, don't be shy to ask them questions about their language. they will be most likely happy to help you out!

Today I wrote my exam (Finnish for beginners II). I had one intensive course at Turun kesäyliopisto (2 weeks, 5 hours every day). I liked it very much! I hope, I can find some other courses, where I can continue my studies! In my opinion, to learn alone at home by yourself is much more difficult. You have to be really self disciplined and have a good system, how and what to study...
