As I am planning a trip this summer, how much possibly do you think it would cost to live comfortably for a week? Whats the average cost of a hotel in Helsinki/Turku? And food? Taxi? I have no clue roughly how big the cities are, and how long cab rides would be from.. lets say a train station to the island of Ruissalo in Turku... stuff like that. Can anyone help me? I know the costs of food and souveniers and stuff are gonna change depending on where I'm eating, and how much I'm purchasing to bring home.

if u like to have a real tour so U wont reserve in a hotel try the international Hostels here in Finland there is more than 9 inn Helsinki and 1 in Turku I thin the price for the one in Turku is between 16 to 25 Eur a night ,and its in the city cente in a very cool place .
in Helsinki the best one is the Cheapest and funiest is the Stadium Hostel its in the middle iof Helsinki in themain Olympic Stadium and the prices also like 16 to 30 Eur with lots of Facilities and nice staff. in Helsinki U can buy the tourist bus ticket that u can use it for all transportation in Helsinki region so its the best and for 3 days it coast 12 Eur . in Turku I dont know but I think there is such things also but for the Islan there is a ferries going there with I think 30 Eur,2 way. now calculate all that .and just prepare ur Bag and Tbag will help u in Helsinki that time

haha that sounds really neat.
How about something like a laptop or phone charger.. is there different outlets? I've never travelled overseas before so this is a new thing to me. Is there anything I'm forgetting? |

hey!
I am also going to Finland this summer, only difference is that I go as an exchange student. I don't know if this can be of any help, but this is the website for the transport in Helsinki : Helsinki City transport. there is probably something of the sort for Turku. I know that Turku is about 1h30 hour to 2 hours away from Helsinki, or about 166 kilometers... Turku travel guide - Wikitravel (maybe this can help you a bit) I also found that you can go to Turku (from Helsinki) for about 21 euros, with the bus company called Pohjalan Liikenne, and by train it's about the same price. are you going to ruisrock? I saw you wanted to know how to get to Ruissalo. about the food, my friend from turku told me it's cheaper to buy food from the outdoor markets than go to restaurants. I hope this can help you a little |
