I just found out online that in the season there are nonstop flights from Helsinki to Enontekiö which is even better for you.
The flights are operated only on Saturdays 08.03.2008 - 03.05.2008 Helsinki - Enontekiö 07:40 - 09:55 Enontekiö - Helsinki 10:30 - 12:40 Here is where you can read about municipality of Enontekiö (where Halti is located): :: Enontekiö :: Kilpisjärvi :: Tosi Lappi :: True Lapland :: You might have Kilpisjärvi as your base and from there they arrange sightseeings by taxi to e.g. Halti which is about 40 km away. Unfortunately I have no idea about how long it takes from Kittilä to Halti. This might be a good site with lots of general info for you: :: Lappi :: Lapland :: Lappland :: Laponie :: If you want help from local experts, contact people whose info you find here: :: Enontekiö :: Kilpisjärvi :: Tosi Lappi :: True Lapland ::
