While reading my friend's blog about her travels in New Zealand I came across a term that could help many people who wish to visit Finland, but can't afford the hotels and wish to meet up with locals: Couch Surfing.
CouchSurfing - Participate in Creating a Better World, One Couch At A Time is the website It is a non-profit organization that aims to connect people all over the world and help them learn about other cultures as well as visit them and meet locals. I am very interested in the concept myself and can't wait to host people in my own apartment once I get settled down in Finland. You don't have to host people to join, you can just meet travelers for coffee or drink if you choose to. Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know. If this is inappropriate to the admins, let me know.
