While reading my friend's blog about her travels in New Zealand I came across a term that could help many people who wish to visit Finland, but can't afford the hotels and wish to meet up with locals: Couch Surfing.

It is a non-profit organization that aims to connect people all over the world and help them learn about other cultures as well as visit them and meet locals. I am very interested in the concept myself and can't wait to host people in my own apartment once I get settled down in Finland. You don't have to host people to join, you can just meet travelers for coffee or drink if you choose to.
