well if you are a foreign student in Finland, I think people are a bit more open to non-finnish speakers (of course, if you take classes from the language center in the university, it might give you a plus to work ). If you get the student visa to Finland, you are aloud to work 15 or 20 hours per week without needing to get the working visa

no need to shock in every country there are lots of unemployed ppl but that not neccessarly mean that there is no job , anyone can work if he just had the patient and insistancy and its differnt from field to field , so you can still see that Finland planning to atract lots of east asian to work in social care ,so dont worry about the numbers .

Hi reea, thanks for the information, will this 15-20 hours working cover all my expense for living there? I will depend on all myself after reaching there, can't bother my parents any more...

Well does anyone knows what sort of jobs are getting effected the most? And how about the real estate in Finland. Will it get cheaper?

Me one year, since beginning of 2008, I've been thinking about going to Finland, hehe... Actually it's coz of one business fair held in my city... I'm the language translator of our company, so I went there with my manager, it's a fair between my city Finland, after the introduction I got to know that Finland is ranking No.1 in education level of the world, and it's all free, hehe... Also it's attracting people of other countries to go and live there, coz the population of Finland is getting older, less young people there... I got interested at that time, but had no enough money, now I'm still collecting, possible for me to catch the coming semester of schools in Finland, I mean September, 2009, hehe...

yeah well living cost in Finland sure isn't cheap at all :/ It's rather expensive (compared to canadian dollars)... but I am also collecting money in order to make this possible I hope you manage to go, Finland really is a cool country. Wouldn't wait a second to go back, if it wasn't of money!

Haha, really money is controlling almost everything in life, what to do, if no money required, I might have already visited each and every place of the world, haha...
