Here is another article which concerns immigrants and finding work in Finland

Yes, now it shows.
In my opinion the big issue is how to begin to be considered as an immigrant (in the sense of all those numerous laws and regulations that each ministry or authority has).
When you get an immigrant status, you get the right to an integration plan, free labour market training, such as language courses and work practice, and a Kela card. All the time, whether you work or not, you will have a decent income and a place to live. I think that only lazy people cannot find a job in such favourable conditions.
But if you're only a student from a non-EEA country (like me), there is none of that. The residence status is uncertain: all the time you need to be enrolled into a study programme "leading to a degree or a qualification" (no folk high schools), even if you don't really want to study it. And you can be employed only if there is no European who can be found for the job in question.
It is frustrating to hear so much talk about "discriminated" immigrants, when there is so much aid available to them.
