bt any way I think you should have some experience in the finnish language cause they for this in most of th jobs and u will feel disappointed but keep trying specilly throughout friend network .

As many other foreigners, I came to Finland for romantic reasons. Probably some people in this same situation may agree this romanticism maybe goes down quite soon when you face real life. The totally normal situation of looking for a job, transforms itself for being “in disadvantage” because of the language barrier.

Definitely I am trying to fix this, no matter I know it would take some time – at least some months- before I could manage myself in Finnish. So, what to do in the meantime? Someone has recommended to apply in the major Finnish companies, but it seems they are overcrowded with this kind of applications, so competence is pretty keen, not to mention they bring their own expats from abroad when needed. In the medium-sized ones they already require fluent Finnish, so the targets reduce significantly, even being well qualified and with lot of experience.

Any suggestions / comments / own experiences from someone who has been in this situation are welcome… Thanks!!!

well yes, you are right... I may try on hotel chains...

and the own business opening is also my second option, actually I already have been working on some business plan, then what lacks is money! the initial capital to set it up is an issue... well we'll see

No problem. Many people which I know here in Finland think about opening an own business as they don't find any work here because of the language.

well I hope not to have this language problem for so long, next week I will begin my Finnish course, let's see how long it takes...

If you study every day 8 hours you may be able to speak Finnish in 1 year...but who wants to study every day 8 hours?
